Hi Salt Fam!

Happy Winter 2025!

We are BACK in town! Our downtown store at 80 Nichols St. is open for the rest of the year. No more waiting for your cookie fix if you’re a local or planning to visit! The shop feels fresh and fun, and we are brimming with excitement for all our new products!

From us, we’ve got our incredible Smokehouse Blend on the shelves, as well as Salt Shop greeting cards by local artist (and my dear friend!) Devon Morris, plus postcards of our iconic Cattle Point logo that make for a great way to say hi to your salty, far-away friends. Our silky smooth honey caramel sauce is also going to be ruling the shelves and sample stations. And if you didn’t get a chance to try our favorite release from 2024, French Fry Seasoning, make sure you get a taste!

And, we’ve got loads of products from our favorite makers! Brady is most excited for Spicy Asian Garlic from The Lady May, the ability to turn anything into pizza with Pizzafy Sauce, and some gorgeous Honey Blossom Spread from Green Pantry that will elevate your classic PB -tortilla. We’ve also expanded our Girl Meets Dirt jam selection– it makes the shop a great spot to one-stop-shop for foodie gift boxes!

In farm news…

We love getting visits from the pups! We said hello to TWO new farm dogs this last year: Mitch and Bucket! Both of them are such a boost to our days.

We also said goodbye to our wonderful coworker Sky this winter! She is off to start her own adventure– but we couldn’t have done the holidays without her! We miss her mucho and want to give her a huge thank you for getting through the craziest time of year with us!

Before leaving, Sky did get to participate in one of my all-time favorite days at the farm, Dress Like Brady Day! In honor Brady's birthday, Leah and I set up a sneaky mission for the entire crew to come in dressed like Brady... without him knowing. Somehow, we did it! Brady didn't even realize why everyone was wearing fun patterned shirts and salt hats until the 3rd or 4th of our salt fam walked through the door! Best day ever.

Greenhouses lost to the wind (courtesy of Ian)

We lost a few greenhouses this winter, so we’ve got lots of work to do patching them up for summer-time! Luckily, Ian will be at the helm of helping get our hardworking greenhouses prepped for the seasons of full salt-harvests.

And, we haven’t had a chance to check-in since New Years! We wanted to give y’all an idea of how last year went for us. In numbers…

We had our 2nd year at our downtown Friday Harbor store!
We added 5 cookies to our line-up, and sold 17,500 cookies all year.
We harvested 25,000 lbs of salt.
We added 4 new employees to our warehouse crew.
We released 5 new sweets and seasonings.
We entered approximately 150 new stores nationwide.
And over 15,300 customers made purchases at the shop this year!

It was truly one of our best years ever. We are gearing up to make the rest of 2025 even better! We are currently hiring for more warehouse and shop crew, and have 3 new blends ready to be released.

Finally, Brady’s podcast Happy When Curious had some incredible guests, like Dr. Andrew Fleming in February, Boyd Pratt in January, and Danny Sherrard in December. Danny and Brady actually talked a bit about some of my extracurricular writing– what a fun blend of podcast, hobby, and salt farm! Check it on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

We can’t wait to see you guys downtown! Stop by, say hi, and make sure you leave with a cookie!
